ABOUT BUTTS IN MOTION
The Butts' mission is to help improve the survival, and quality of life, of men diagnosed with prostate cancer through fitness, support, and camaraderie.
WHO THE BUTTS ARE
It All Started With Butts in a Boat
The “Butts in a Boat" team is the first prostate cancer dragon boat team in the world, and it began where dragon boating for cancer patients began: right here in False Creek, Vancouver!

We formed the Butts team in 2016 for a one-off challenge against the original “Abreast in a Boat” team. It has now become a tradition for the “Butts” and the “Abreast” teams to compete against each other in June, but then to team up as a mixed male and female team for practices and regattas for the rest of the season.
Expanding and Evolving into Butts in Motion
With growing research on the benefits of exercise for prostate cancer patients and the sustainability of programs that involve men with prostate cancer in a capacity where they are able to socialize and share support, evolving Butts in a Boat to widely encompass group fitness activities of all kinds for prostate cancer patients felt like a natural transition.
